1st Entry: Orthodontic

Hey guys, this morning I went for orthodontics appointment again. Hmm, it's the beginning journey of my brace face diary. Today I made a study model, so that orthodontist can study my teeth and does his planning in shifting my teeth. As you can see very clearly from my picture, I have very serious overbite. On the left side the upper two teeth should be covering the lower two teeth but mine did not work out.
Orthodontist said my bad shape will actually continue then becoming worst as my wisdom teeth are still growing and squeezing out in the limited space. Hmm, let's see.
I was told that it will be a big project to correct the 4 discoordinated teeth as well as pushing my front "rabbit" teeth inwards. Well says, I will need to pull out 4 teeth to squeeze out some space for the shifting process. An alternative way is not to mind the front teeth then the project thing might go easier.
To make a study model, orthodontist asked me to bite a piece of pink clay first placing on upper row teeth and then another one on lower row teeth. On this coming Monday morning, orthodontist will make space in between each tooth so then there is enough space for shifting. Wish me good luck.

It's my new gadget of the year- Braces.
It took me one hour and forty minutes to put this thing on today. The process of fixing brackets and wire was not painful but making distance between teeth was "quite" awful. Orthodontist kinda "drilled" certain tooth to make it smaller so that it made distance in between (making space for tooth shifting purpose). Good news is I did not pull any tooth.
OKAY LAH THE DRILLING WAS ACTUALLY VERY MUCH PAINFUL. So you imagine the drilling sound and drill till your teeth gum yet still drilling like no ending. Stop then drill again, stop and drill again. You could smell your tooth was drilled into dust yet he is STILL KEEP DRILLING. When he stopped, you feel released, then he continued drilling another tooth.
Now I can't bite upper and lower row teeth together because orthodontist put a solid glue at my back teeth to make space between upper and lower teeth. As I told earlier, due to the project to correct the discoordinated upper two teeth with lower two teeth.
My mum is so afraid of dentist and blood. I asked her to leave me in dental then I will take a bus back uni, she said okay and returned home. But after an hour plus she appeared again, she almost fainted to see my teeth gum full with blood after the "drilling". The brackets were fitted first then followed by "drilling". I was given a piece of tissue paper.
I feel okay today, my both row of teeth feel a bit numb. I heard that tomorrow and the next day will be horrible and I need to swallow bunches of paracetamol. No idea, wish me good luck. I will update again.
Dr. Yeoh said, "tissue paper is for wiping your face and not blood, blood is okay and just swallow it, it's your own blood, you don't dare to swallow your own blood?"作者: callmefifi 时间: 2011-6-11 12:58

Somehow I need to face the reality to flash back the agony of my orthodontic appointment today, in order to complete this post. So today I went through the "drilling " again, and replaced new rubber of my down row braces. Because the old rubber gets less elastic to tighten my lower row of teeth. The (chewing gum) white glue was drilled into smaller piece, well said they are still there at my back teeth, two huge pieces of that.
Drilling is awful, I do not want to mention the night mare again, you may refer to my previous post. Now there is new kangtao again-- Changing the rubber is very very painful until I stopped the nurse half way and I almost cried out. Imagine a single touch can make my each single tooth feels ache, now the nurse supplies force when putting on rubber sockets into metal brackets. I just can say, WTFG. Each and every tooth, press and press and press and press and press fitting the rubber into brackets. Well said, I almost pee in my pants, my tears almost drop down. Can you imagine when you have toothache, the tooth is shaggy it will be fragile and very painful even when touching it, NOW THE PEOPLE KEEP PRESSING THE TOOTH. Get it? And I just experienced being pressed heavily on every ache tooth.
I can say I am not someone that much afraid of pain, since I decided to put on braces I should can expect this pain right? But, putting on the rubber is so painful like hell comparable to the drilling. They are just two different suffers you will only understand after you try out. Enough explain.
My teeth getting discoordinated after putting on the braces, but they will be aligned back after the shifting position is settled. FYI I changed the down row to be transparent color. The previous one was white.
